The industry's first internet-scale, independent network operating system
The next generation of network infrastructure
Arrcus has taken a revolutionary approach to architect and deliver an independent, Linux-based 64-bit network operating system, ArcOS, that powers the next generation of network infrastructure. ArcOS, based on modern architectural tenets, is a fully programmable, massively scalable, modular, extensible software that enables customers to cost-effectively design, deploy, and manage their network infrastructure. Built from first principles using open standards, ArcOS offers a simple, scalable, secure, and seamless networking solution by providing superior bandwidth, low latency, fast convergence, and high availability at the lowest cost per terabit
The ArcOS Advantage
ArcOS transforms the way companies build and manage their networks with internet-scale routing support, fabric-wide network telemetry, and standards-based APIs for programmatic access
Automated processes accelerate and streamline network provisioning, operations, and deployment
Modular software maximizes flexibility in building a scale-out architecture for a variety of network environments (physical, virtual, cloud)
Adaptive, optimal traffic engineering combined with fabric-wide telemetry delivers actionable insights

What ArcOS offers your team
ArcOS, a modern, microservices-based network operating system with best-of-breed analytics, enables operators to build their network infrastructure on the platform of their choice and deploy in the datacenter, the edge, or the cloud
Microservices-based architectureAddresses the demands of modern workloads and provides full service isolation, service resiliency, and service location choice ›
The ArcOS microservices-based, scale-out architecture is built to respond to modern data workloads and the demands those workloads place on networks. It provides full service isolation, service resiliency, and service location choice over bare metal, a VM, or a container.
Fully separated from the underlying Linux kernel, ArcOS can be composably packaged with any Linux distribution tailored to individual environments.
Freedom of hardware Runs on any type of workload – physical, virtual, or container and operates in any location – a datacenter, a PoP, or the cloud ›
ArcOS liberates you from reliance on proprietary hardware. Network engineers and architects can use any white-box/brite-box to build a switch or a router, making the most of existing investments. Supported physical network devices include numerous form factors and span all port types – 1G/10G/25G/40G/100G/400G. The solution runs any type of workload – physical, virtual, or container and operates in any location whether it be a Datacenter, a PoP, or the Cloud.
Performance, resiliency, and securityArcOS provides image signing and validation, secure routing, telemetry with TLS, and a SecOps toolkit ›
Built to be modular, ArcOS boasts a multi-process, multi-thread architecture that uses a multi-core CPU effectively to deliver superior performance. The per process re-starting capabilities for routing, RIB, and FIB bring unprecedented resiliency to network devices running ArcOS. The native patching capability allows for easy upgrades and hot patching of specific PSIRTs or other issues without impacting other processes. ArcOS also enables secure configuration, operation, and monitoring of network devices by providing image signing and validation, secure routing, telemetry with TLS, and a SecOps toolkit
Plug and Play AutomationOur built-in YANG/OpenConfig/REST API support enables network operators to easily integrate into their existing environments ›
ArcOS provides a very simple initial boot and upgrade capability as well as debuggability. It can be configured using Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) over IPv4 or IPv6. ArcOS is fully programmable, standards-based (built on open APIs), and highly scalable. Its built-in YANG/OpenConfig/REST API support enables network operators to easily integrate into their existing environments.
Best-of-Breed AnalyticsOffers native streaming telemetry capabilities that allow streaming of control plane, data plane, and environmental data ›
Whether the networks are managed on-premise or in the cloud, operators need to visualize the entire network through real-time analytics with Deep Visibility. The ArcOS software provides many management operations automated through Policy-Driven FCAPS (Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance, Security) controls available out of the box. In addition, it has native streaming telemetry capabilities that allow the streaming of the control-plane, forwarding plane, and device environmentals-related data.
Deployment FlexibilityArcOS enables open integration for several use cases, including Spine-Leaf Clos and IP routing environments ›
ArcOS enables open integration for the following use cases:
- Spine-Leaf Clos for Datacenter workloads
- IP Routing and Resilient Routing to the Host
- Internet Peering for CDN providers and ISPs
- MPLS and Traffic Engineering with Segment Routing
- Out of Band (OOB) Management
